Siena & Horses

e

Siena found a new obsession just before we left for Italy and it peaked while we were there. She is absolutely obsessed with horses. This quickly became a theme of our trip. She was able to pet a horse when we visited Arezzo and watch them practice for the jousting tournament, we then decided to return a few days later when the tournament was to be held (although we couldn't stay for the tournament we were able to watch the parade and allow her to pet another horse). We also found a carousel in Florence that she enjoyed also.

Siena & Great-Nonna

One of the purposes of our trip to Italy was so that Siena could meet her great grandmother (Nonna) that lives in Florence. She was so excited to meet Siena and the last day there Siena finally warmed up enough to sit in her lap.

Mugnaini Family in Florence

Our family overlooking Florence from the Piazzale del Michealangelo.

Siena in Siena, Italy

We visited the city that Siena was named after. Pictures are of street sign pointing in direction of Siena, the piazza del campo - and Siena playing in the piazza and water there.

We're in Italy

We're finally here. We had a rough beginning though - the plumbing in our house at home backed up all over the bathroom floor and all the way into our bedroom closet about 4am the morning were leaving, then about 3/4 of the way to Jacksonville, FL we realized that I had left my passport on the printer/copier at the house and had to drive back and get it (a 4 hour drive became a 9 hour overnight drive), we were very close to missing our flight the next day (evidently it's difficult to get 5 people and a baby out the door on time), the flights went well - we were able to get some sleep and Siena was great on all 3 flights. When we arrived in Venice however, mine & Stefano's suitcases had not made the flight from Jacksonville (remember I said we almost missed our flight) - all of the Hall's bags made it though. My bag arrived at the hotel in Venice later that afternoon and Stefano's the next day. Since then we've had a wonderful trip. The scenery is beautiful and Siena is enjoying herself. Pictures are of us on our front patio of the villa (Villa Fabbroni), the next is a view of the Duomo in Florence, and the last is one of the views from our villa.
