Siena Reading

Siena has finally finished her reading lesson book Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons!  It was quite a challenge here toward the end.  She could always do it, but when the book took away all of her hints (to prepare for reading normal books) she got pretty nervous and panic when she didn't get the word right on the first try.  She is so used to everything being so easy for her that she doesn't know what to do when it's not easy.  I decided to record her reading parts of the last lesson (it helped her try since she was being recorded).  She will now move on to easy to read books.  A big thank you to Bev McEldowney for helping supply us with a lot of little starter books.  They really help her confidence.  We also have a computer program that I downloaded for free that she will be working on.  She's definitely excited to move on.

Circus

Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus in Jacksonville.  We were able to go last minute with Lilli's friend Tani and her family.  They had 4 extra free tickets and invited us.  The girls had so much fun.  Siena's favorite part was the elephants and pegasus.  The girls watched intently during the first half, soon after the intermission, Lilli fell asleep.

Siena's 6th Birthday Tea Party

I can't believe Siena is 6!!!  Where has the time gone.  She wanted to have a tea party for her birthday.  Gramma made cookies and mini cupcakes and Siena & Lilli helped decorate them.  We decorated with paper tissue flowers.  There were PB&J and Turkey/Cheese tea sandwiches, strawberry whip cream cookies, fruit with Daddy's caramel sauce, and cupcakes.  Mommy made Nutella hot chocolate and there were peppermint marshmallows to go with it.  Daddy dressed in his tux to act as waiter.  Friends from CC and church came to celebrate.  The girls made paper fans as a craft.  After the tea they all went outside to play on the swingset and with the chickens.  Siena had a great time.  Nonna was the photographer so there will hopefully be more pictures soon.
